In celebration of International Museum Day on May 18 each year, Egypt's antiquities museums embraced the spirit of community and culture through a variety of activities.
The Mummification Museum organized guided tours and an art workshop. The Gayer-Anderson Museum opened a temporary exhibition titled "Masterpieces of the Cretan House" and hosted storytelling workshops for children. The National Museum of Alexandria welcomed visitors with a temporary stamp exhibition and lectures on urban sustainability.
The Graeco-Roman Museum presented a scientific symposium on the role of museums in achieving sustainable development, alongside interactive games and virtual tours that added vibrancy to the experience. At the Kafr El Sheikh Museum, a temporary exhibition on ancient lighting methods was showcased, and the museum also hosted various workshops and psychological support lectures for people with special needs.
Meanwhile, the Cairo International Airport Museum offered a range of activities promoting sustainability and environmental awareness through workshops and various events targeting all ages.
